This feature has been sunset with the implementation of the HEAT Bridge and is no longer functioning. It will be removed in a future build.
The HEAT Web UI is the antiquated method of communicating with the HEAT marketplace. Please use the HEAT Bridge now.
In the HEAT Tools Browser you are able to search for movements that you want to import into your scene.
In the search field you can enter any keyword that you would like to look for within the HEAT library. Enter a keyword and press the 'Fetch' button to populate the browser results with your search.
Beneath the search bar there is the 'Filter Tags' drop down menu. You can filter your search results here with our built in tag system. You can also search based on root motion, hip motion, or in place animations.
This toolset has a handful of applications to help you take HEAT animations a bit further in Blender.
The 'Convert to Root Control XYZ' tool should only be used on Hip motion animations. Activating it on a root motion animation will break the translation and cause foot sliding.
The HEAT Retargeting tool is a simple and easy way to get any animation from HEAT from T69H to your own custom character within blender. This tool is slightly more advanced so we have written a full advances guide for HEAT Retargeting within Blender.
All animations must be applied to T69H armature at first. Use HEAT Retargeting within the Blender plug-in to put animations on custom characters, or you can bind a HEAT armature to your own custom mesh. Both of these options are discussed further in our advanced tools section.
Next we will instruct you through some more advanced applications of the HEAT Blender plug-in.
Near the top of the module you can click the 'Fetch Heat Animations' button () to load all of the HEAT marketplace animations into the browser under the 'Results' section.
Once you select your desired animation in the Browser window you can press the 'Download' button () at the bottom of the browser tool to import your chosen animation directly into your scene on a new T69H character.
Import New Armature - This button () will import a fresh HEAT armature into your scene without any mesh attached to it. This can then be used to bind to your own mesh if you would like to easily get HEAT animations on your own mesh.
Import Armature + Mesh - This button () will import a fresh T69H that is fully rigged into your scene, ready to be populated with animations from HEAT.
Bind to Mesh - This button () will bind any mesh to a selected armature with automatic weights. In order for this button to work you must be in object mode and select the mesh first, then shift+select the armature, then click the 'Bind to Mesh' button. We will go over this application further in the Advanced Tools section of this guide.
Convert to Root Control XYZ - This button () will swap the animation curves of the Hip and Root bones to effectively convert a hip based animation into a root motion animation.
Pose to Rest - This button () will only work when your armature is in 'Pose Mode'. Clicking this button will instantly set your armatures current pose to the armature rest pose. This is very useful in changing an armature from A-pose to T-pose. This tool application will be further discussed in the Advanced Tools section of this guide and is especially helpful when using Heat Retargeting.
