Last updated 1 month ago

Opening the Plug-in Manager

  • With the HEAT Bridge open navigate to your system tray and expand it in the lower right had corner of Windows.

  • The Plug-in Manager window will now open and display all of the possible plug-in installations.

Installing HEAT Plug-ins

Blender

  • Begin by selecting the version of Blender that you would like to install the HEAT plug-in to from menu options on the left hand side.

  • When you click Install you will be prompted by windows to "allow PowerShell to make changes to your device". Click yes. This allows the bridge to place the files in the administrator level directories that the plug-ins need to be in.

  • PowerShell will now open and unpack the plug-in files and place them in the correct directory.

  • Once the install is complete open Blender and navigate, in the menu bar, to 'Edit -> Preferences'. In the left had menu bar of the Preferences window select 'Add-ons'.

Blender may need to be restarted after activating the HEAT Blender plug-in in the Add-ons manager. If you are having issues importing animations at this point please restart Blender.

Unity

Unity does not have program-wide plug-ins so with this plug-in you will need to install to each Unity project that you would like to use with HEAT

  • When you click Install you will be prompted by windows to "allow PowerShell to make changes to your device". Click yes. This allows the bridge to place the files in the administrator level directories that the plug-ins need to be in.

  • PowerShell will now open and unpack the plug-in files and place them in your downloads directory at 'Downloads -> Heat -> HeatUnity-vX.X.X.unitypackage'.

  • Open Unity and create a new 3D project.

  • Navigate, in the menu bar, to 'Assets -> Import Package -> Custom Package'.

  • Navigate to the 'HeatUnity-vX.X.X.unitypackage' file and open it.

  • An import window will pop up in Unity. Keep everything selected and click the import button.

Daz Studio 3D

  • Begin by selecting the version of Daz Studio that you would like to install the HEAT plug-in to from menu options on the left hand side.

  • Upon opening Daz the HEAT Animations Pane will be available. If you do not see it immediately navigate, in the menu bar, to 'Window -> Panes (Tabs) -> HEAT Animations'.

Maya

While the Maya plug-in is able to be installed from the HEAT Bridge Plug-in Manager, it does not use the Bridge directly at this time to import animations. Maya imports are, for now, handled with an internal web view that looks identical to the HEAT Bridge.

  • Begin by selecting the version of Maya that you would like to install the HEAT plug-in to from menu options on the left hand side.

  • When you click Install you will be prompted by windows to "allow PowerShell to make changes to your device". Click yes. This allows the bridge to place the files in the administrator level directories that the plug-ins need to be in.
